The National Construction Code 2019 Amendment 1 came into effect on 1 July 2020.
Changes include:
- A new provision regarding egress from early childhood centres.
- Clarification that anti-ponding board requirements only apply to roofs were sarking is installed
- Clarification of the existing timber framing concessions for low-rise Class 2 and 3 buildings.
- An update to the Governing Requirements to require labelling of Aluminium Composite Panels (ACPs) in accordance with SA Technical Specification 5344.
- A provision requiring processes to be followed with regard to the improvement of quality and documentation of performance solutions will come into effect on 1 July 2021.
