Façade compliance has been the subject of much concern recently following the Lacrosse fire and VBA audits of facades which found a number of buildings with non-compliant cladding installed.

With many non-compliant materials on the market, it is difficult to decipher which products are suitable and compliant for use. Whilst there is no cladding material that is truly fireproof, the NCC specifies the performance requirements for a non-combustible material which must be adopted when selecting a cladding material, and subsequently approved by the relevant Building Surveyor.

Vitracore G2 has been a chosen cladding product on a selection of apartments we have/are consulting on and is a confirmed non-combustible and BCA compliant Deemed to Satisfy material, which is permitted as both an attachment and wall lining. Visually, Vitracore G2 is the same, however the difference in this product, is that the core is constructed from 100% aluminium structure, rather than combustible material.
