On Wednesday 27 February 2019, Grimbos Building Surveyors proudly sponsored the Show your Heart Luncheon hosted by Collingwood player and HeartKid ambassador Jaidyn Stephenson.
Held at the Glasshouse Centre, with MC Brodie Young, guests heard from Sally Capp, Lord Mayor of Melbourne and learnt about Jaidyn’s adversity with his heart condition and being drafted by the Collingwood football club.
The live auctions sent the room into a spin, with John Grimbos fighting to win a signed 2019 Collingwood jersey, but was defeated by fellow work colleague, Steven Lam from Intuitive Consulting. The resultant sale of auction items, raised much needed money for HeartKids.
Guests were also immersed in Mike Brady and his discussion about past career successes, including the creation of the well-known Hard Yakka advertising jingle, and “Luckyyyy, you’re with AAMI”. Many were pleasantly surprised to learn that the man behind ‘Up there cazaly’, was also behind these iconic promotional songs.
The event concluded with the announcement of Collingwood’s official partnership with HeartKids which will further enhance this wonderful charity and the difference it makes to children born and living with heart disease.
