We are seeing more and more uses of the humble shipping container in tenancy fitouts, houses and offices. Architecturally designed, these shipping containers, provide a new wow factor and experience for consumers. Some may even see cost savings in their use.
So, do these shipping containers require a building permit? The answer is Yes.
It is imperative that you obtain a Building Permit AND a Planning Permit or you might find yourself with a Building Notice which may prohibit the use or require demolition/removal of the building/structure.
